Iron drips or scales up – steam function stops working
Limescale in the steam vents is the main cause of dripping and weak steam. Allow the iron to cool and empty the water tank. Most irons have a Calc-Clean or anti-scale function: fill the tank with distilled water, set the iron to the highest temperature setting, and activate the cleaning button as directed in the instructions – hold it over a sink as hot water and scale particles will be expelled. Never fill the tank with tap water mixed with descaling agent; only use distilled or demineralised water. Regular cleaning every 1–2 months prevents damage.
