Piano Key or Keyboard Key Is Stuck
On acoustic pianos, keys often stick due to wood swelling in high humidity or a foreign object that has slipped beneath a key. First, shine a flashlight between the keys to check for any obstruction and carefully remove it with a toothpick. On a keyboard, check whether the key is mechanically jammed and gently press it straight down. Adjust the room humidity (target range 45–55%) if several keys are affected. For deeper work on piano actions, I recommend calling a piano tuner or technician — incorrect intervention can permanently damage the action.
