Removing Red Wine Stains from Clothing
Act fast: the fresher the stain, the better. Immediately flush a fresh stain with cold water from the back of the fabric and blot with an absorbent cloth — never rub. Then apply salt or sparkling water, let it sit, and blot again. Next, work in a little dish soap, wait 5 minutes, and wash as normal. For dried stains, pre-treat with gall soap or an enzyme-based stain remover and leave it on for at least 30 minutes before washing. Take delicate fabrics such as silk or wool to a dry cleaner.
