Laundry Smells Musty After Washing

The main cause is leaving damp laundry sitting in the drum too long, as well as mold inside the washing machine housing. Remove laundry immediately after the cycle ends and hang it up right away. Clean the drum's rubber seal monthly (wipe away residue with a vinegar-water solution) and run a 60 °C hot wash with a little soda to remove biofilm. Avoid washing heavy or synthetic fabrics at too low a temperature (below 40 °C is often insufficient for heavily soiled laundry). Leave the machine door slightly ajar after each wash so the interior can dry out.
