Blocked Drain – Sink or Shower No Longer Draining

The cause is usually a plug of hair, soap residue or limescale in the trap. Step 1: Remove visible debris using a hook-shaped piece of wire or a drain brush. Step 2: Place a plunger firmly over the drain and pump vigorously 10–15 times. Step 3: If necessary, place a bucket under the trap beneath the basin, unscrew it, clean it thoroughly and reattach it securely. Only use chemical drain cleaners as a last resort and never mix them with other products – wear safety goggles.
