Wall plug not holding – screw spinning in the plug

Common cause: wrong plug diameter, material that is too soft (plasterboard, aerated concrete), or an oversized hole. Remove the old plug and fill the hole with plaster or filler if it is too large. For plasterboard, use dedicated cavity wall anchors (toggle bolts or spiral anchors) – do not use standard plastic plugs. In aerated or cellular concrete, use only plugs specifically designated for that material. Always drill the hole the same size as the outer diameter of the plug – no larger. Drive the plug in flush, then turn the screw in slowly with gentle pressure.
