Ikea or flat-pack furniture wobbles after assembly

The cause is usually incorrectly tightened cam lock connectors (cam fittings) or a missing back panel. Turn all cam locks (round metal discs) clockwise until they click firmly into place – they are often not fully tightened during initial assembly. Evenly tighten screws at corners and joints, but do not force them – chipboard strips easily. Make sure the back panel (even if thin) is fully secured with all nails or screws, as it is what keeps the piece rigid. If the furniture stands on an uneven floor, use adjustable feet or place thin felt pads underneath.
