Gas Grill Won't Ignite – Safe and Quick Fix

The most common causes are an empty gas cylinder, a closed cylinder valve, or a dirty ignition electrode. Safety note: Always open the grill lid fully before igniting – otherwise gas can accumulate and cause a flashback hazard. Check that the gas cylinder is open and not empty. Carefully clean the ignition electrode with a dry brush. If the automatic ignition fails, you can manually ignite using a long-handled lighter from the side – turn the gas on slowly. If you smell gas after several attempts, immediately close the valve, ventilate the area, and contact a specialist.
