Lawn Mower Won't Start – What to Do?

Common causes include an empty tank, stale fuel, a dirty spark plug, or a clogged air filter. First check the fuel level and replace any petrol that is more than 30 days old. Clean or replace the spark plug and tap out or replace the air filter. Make sure the safety bail handle is fully pressed down – many mowers will not start otherwise. If none of this helps, a faulty carburettor may be the issue; in that case, a visit to a repair shop is recommended.
