Tyre slowly losing air – find the cause and respond correctly
A gradual loss of pressure is often caused by a small nail or screw in the tread, a leaking valve cap, or a slightly warped wheel rim. Inflate the tyre to the correct pressure and check with soapy water whether bubbles appear at the valve or on the tread surface. If there is a foreign object in the tread, do not remove it yourself – it is temporarily sealing the puncture. Go to a tyre shop promptly; many repairs (internal patching) cost only a few euros. Do not continue driving on a tyre with significantly low pressure, as this can lead to a blowout.
