Pressure cooker not building pressure
Most common cause: the sealing ring is incorrectly seated, has become brittle, or the valve seat is blocked. Steps: open the lid (the pot is not under pressure, so it is safe to do so), remove the rubber seal and check for cracks or hardening – faulty seals must be replaced. Carefully clean the pressure valve and steam valve with a needle or thin brush. Make sure there is at least 250 ml of liquid in the pot, as pressure cannot build without sufficient steam. Important: never operate a pressure cooker with a faulty valve or cracked seal – risk of explosion! If in doubt, contact the manufacturer's service department.
