Vacuum sealer no longer drawing air / not sealing
Common causes: sealing strip dirty or damaged, bag inserted incorrectly, or moisture in the sealing area. Steps: open the appliance and carefully clean the rubber seal around the sealing channel with a damp cloth – even small traces of grease will prevent a vacuum from forming. Leave at least 3–4 cm of the bag end extending beyond the edge and ensure it is completely dry and straight before inserting. Briefly pre-freeze moist foods (e.g. meat) or pat them dry with a kitchen towel before vacuum sealing. If the appliance remains leaky, order a replacement sealing strip from the manufacturer – it is usually inexpensive and easy to swap out.
