Accessing the FritzBox or Router Interface – How It Works

The router interface lets you adjust the Wi-Fi password, parental controls, port forwarding, and many other settings. Step 1: Connect your computer or smartphone to the router via Wi-Fi or cable. Step 2: Open a browser and enter the address '192.168.178.1' (FritzBox) or '192.168.1.1' (many other models) – the exact address is also printed on the router's sticker. Step 3: Log in with the router password (the default password is on the sticker, but it should have been changed). Step 4: Here you can change the Wi-Fi name and password, view connected devices, and start firmware updates. Step 5: Safety note: Always change default passwords to prevent unauthorized users from modifying your network settings.
